Saturdays and Sundays, enjoy a delicious breakfast and visit with Jolly Old St. Nick. the breakfast buffet includes scrambled eggs with fresh herbs, bacon, fruit, buttermilk pancakes, sweet treats, and much more. Kids will get the chance to tell Father Christmas all of their Christmas wishes, while parents snap a pretty picture for the mantle!

 

Dinner with the Clauses

Join Blue the Pig and other friends from Congress Hall as we prepare for Santa’s arrival in Cape May! Sing along to your favorite Christmas carols and enjoy a delicious three-course meal in Congress Hall’s Grand Ballroom. From “Deck the (Congress) Halls”, to “Blue (Pig) Christmas”, dinner with the Clauses is sure to be an evening of fun for the whole family.

 

The Santaland Diaries

Cape May Congress Hall’s own production of “The Santaland Diaries” with the help of Cape May Stage, in Congress Hall’s Harrison Room. Thursdays-Saturdays, November 30-December 28.

Christmas in Cape may is very special. The town comes to life in color. The Christmas season is a particularly beautiful time of the year in Cape May. The Washington Street Mall is filled with lights, greenery, and decorations, and many of the historic homes and hotels around our town decorate in unique ways. A walk around town or a horse carriage ride is a favorite way to see the lights.

Christmas Questions

When does Cape May get decorated for the holidays?

No specific date that holiday lights go up and come down, but the town is decorated by the Christmas Parade (the first Saturday in December) and decorated into the new year.

Are restaurants and shops open?

Yes, many shops and restaurants are open through the holiday season, with extra shopping hours closer to Christmas.

There are restaurants that serve on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but many will be closed, so please call ahead to make sure your favorite will be open.

Does Santa visit Cape May?

Yes! Santa Claus is a frequent visitor to Cape May and makes appearances at a variety of Cape May restaurants and shops during the holiday season. He also rides on a firetruck in the West Cape May Christmas Parade and can be spotted outside the Original Fudge Kitchen during the holiday season. Several restaurants offer breakfast with Santa (or Mrs. Claus), too.

70th Annual Froth Blowing Competition at Ugly Mug Sunday in Cape May

Compete to join the “Loyal Order of the Ugly Mugs”! Sunday September 9th is the 70th annual Froth Blowing Competition – biggest end of the summer party in Cape May! Sign-ups to join the competition start at 4pm, event starts at 6pm. DJ Jeff Walden spinning from 4pm until competition end; live music with Subliminal Message band 10pm-1am. Contest winner gets a custom Mug and engraved trophy- and of course, the title of 2018 National Froth Blowing Champion.

Proceeds support PAL – Police Althetic League.
